FROZEN SHORES

From the shores of Annwynn, two ships were prepared, barded and manned. Skiffs rowed their way across the dark green sea, rolling over the waves until they reached the looming shadows of the two slumbering giants that awaited in the water. The Morrigna loaded the vessels with goods, food, waters and other such effects - weapons too -, before clambering on board themselves. A contingent of families, wives and children at the front, stood patiently on the shoreline. From the cliff, backed by the first light of the rising sun, the four chieftains supervised the departure. Like four stars, their spears shone, guiding the path through the reefs out of the bay, and into the distant horizon beyond.

As the anchors were lifted, a deep song echoed over the rocks and fangs of the ghastly ocean. The chiefs prayed for the merchants safe passage to Bannesiel. When the sunlight brushed the wooden deck, the captains called to hoist the sails, set tack to starboard and brace for a long travel. The resident Stór sacrificed a goat to Shaohl, its blood poured into the sea and its remained cooked aboard for a better starting day. The Folset immigrants spoke of faraway lands to the north, a continent of ice and rocks... A shadow of the once beautiful Eiduwis. Of course, these rumours had driven the adventurous' minds mad.

When the chiefs acknowledged the thought, they discussed for a few days until a notice was sent out throughout Aedelwynn, looking for sailors who were willing to risk their lives for gold. The brave and bold, and some fools too, presented themselves before Bran and the council. Fifty elves, twelve men, and six merrow came to answer the call, and shared on two ships. They had for one mission to make contact with the northern continent, trade if they could, and make their way home safely. A flock of six ravens were also embarked to make sure they were close to land. And thus with the blessing of the Gods, the two crews left at the crack of dawn, to carve their way across the Ghastly Sea.
